Room Temperature Switches

Potter RTS series room temperature switches are designed to warn of potential sprinkler pipe freezing.

They operate at 40°F (±5°F) using an epoxy sealed stainless steel case with a bi-metallic operating mechanism and silver clad contacts, automatically reset when the temperature rises back above 40°F, are rated 1 amp at 24VDC, and carry UL and cUL listings. The RTS-C has a normally closed contact that opens when the temperature drops below 40F, designed to comply with NFPA 13 and 72 requirements for a room temperature switch to operate at 40F to protect a dry pipe valve from freezing. The RTS-O is the normally open version.
