The Tuxedo Touch is a wired, touchscreen keypad that can control Z-wave devices. The LYNX Touch L5100 is a wireless control panel and keypad all-in-one, and can also control Z-wave devices.
Despite their similar appearance, the Tuxedo Touch and L5100 are actually quite different. The Tuxedo Touch was initially designed as a Z-Wave controller for home automated lights, locks, and thermostats, but it can also be used as a keypad for Vista Series Control Panels. The L5100, on the other hand, is its own keypad and control panel. With the installation of the L5100 Z-Wave Module, it can also operate as a Z-Wave Controller.
The L5100 runs off of transformer power and is wireless. The Tuxedo Touch is wired and requires house power to function properly. The L5100 works with Honeywell's Total Connect 2.0. Even though Total Connect allows Vista Control Panels, like the Vista 21iP, to be controlled remotely using a smartphone, the same is not the case for the Tuxedo Touch (unless port forwarding is used).
