How long is the Honeywell LT-Cable for the LYNX L5100?

Last Updated: 11/15/2013

The LT-Cable that runs power to your L5100 control panel is 8 feet long.

The LT-Cable comes at this length not only to give you enough slack to reach the nearest wall outlet, but also to allow the user to run the cable behind a wall when mounting the L5100. This is a popular choice because it gives the LYNX Touch L5100 a clean, wireless look. If the nearest wall outlet is more than 8 feet away from your desired mounting location, then you have two choices. First, relocate the L5100 so its LT-Cable can reach the outlet, or abandon the LT-Cable and connect the control panel to power using traditional alarm wire. However, connecting the panel using alarm wire is a much more complicated process.

Why the LT-Cable is easier to use...

The LT-Cable is designed to make it simpler for users to connect the L5100 to its corresponding transformer plug. The cable has a DC connector on one end, and two spade connectors on the other. The DC connector plugs directly into the back of the L5100, and the spade connectors attach easily to the two screw terminals on the transformer plug. The LT-Cable saves users the hassle of having to connect their L5100 to the transformer using two-conductor alarm wire.
