Cabinet Locks

Electric Cabinet Locks

Access control no longer stops at the door of a room. Cabinet locks bring the same electronic control, and often the same audit trail, to the drawers, cabinets, lockers, display cases, and equipment racks inside it, protecting medication, cash, records, and network hardware in places where a full-size door lock will not fit.

They come in a few forms. Wired electromechanical locks such as the HES 660 connect to an existing access control panel, keypad, or card reader and hold over 1,000 pounds, and unlike magnetic cabinet locks they stay locked when power is lost; the 660 key override adds mechanical access for service. Credential cabinet locks such as the K200 build a multi-technology card reader into the lock and report to the access control system, giving drawer-level audit and door monitoring with the same card that opens the building. Server cabinet locks apply that card access to individual equipment racks in data centers and network closets, and standalone battery-powered keypad locks cover low- to medium-security drawers with no wiring at all.
