The Von Duprin 6211-12VDC-US32D line of Electric Strike is the ideal device since it enables remote unlocking of a locked door without having to retract the latchbolt. When the door closes and the beveled latchbolt rides over the lip and lands in the electric strike pocket, the electric strike lip also known as the "keeper" or gate releases, starting the complete process. The 6211 series provides a nice selection of electric strikes with highly adjustable features for use on new installations with cylindrical locks on a single door, hollow metal frame applications, or mortise locks without deadbolts. For situations involving new building, it is a fantastic option. Your door is more securely secured when the electric strike and door hardware work together.
