The Silent Knight SK-MONITOR is an intelligent addressable input monitor module designed to connect conventional initiating devices to compatible Honeywell Silent Knight fire alarm control panels. The Silent Knight SK-MONITOR Intelligent Monitor Module provides an interface between conventional contact-initiating devices and compatible Honeywell Silent Knight addressable fire alarm control panels. Designed for intelligent two-wire signaling line circuits (SLCs), the SK-MONITOR converts the activation of connected initiating devices into individually identifiable alarm, supervisory, or trouble signals that can be processed by the fire alarm control panel. The module supports one supervised initiating device circuit with Class A or Class B wiring configurations, enabling monitoring of waterflow switches, manual fire alarm pull stations, sprinkler supervisory contacts, and compatible conventional 4-wire smoke detectors. Built-in rotary address switches allow installers to assign a unique device address, providing precise identification of connected equipment within commercial fire detection and life-safety systems.

The SK-MONITOR operates on 15 to 32 VDC supplied through the signaling line circuit, with a maximum current draw of 5.0 mA when its status LED is illuminated. Typical operating current is approximately 375 microamps during group polling, while the supervised initiating device circuit uses a 47-kilohm end-of-line resistor for Class B applications. The module supports a maximum initiating device circuit wiring resistance of 1,500 ohms and incorporates a panel-controlled, dual-color LED that flashes green during normal operation and illuminates solid red when an alarm condition is reported. Its fully supervised circuit design enables the fire alarm control panel to detect wiring faults and changes in the monitored device state. The module is UL Listed and operates within an ambient temperature range of 32 F to 120 F (0 C to 49 C), with relative humidity from 10% to 93% non-condensing.

Designed for straightforward installation and service, the Silent Knight SK-MONITOR measures 4.5 inches high, 4 inches wide, and 1.25 inches deep and mounts directly to a standard 4-inch square electrical box with a minimum depth of 2-1/8 inches. The optional System Sensor SMB500 surface-mount electrical box provides an alternative mounting arrangement for applications where recessed electrical boxes are impractical. Integrated SEMS terminal screws simplify conductor termination, while the rotary address selectors allow field technicians to configure the module without specialized address-setting equipment. The SK-MONITOR supports power-limited wiring and is intended for installation according to the manufacturer's wiring diagrams, applicable electrical codes, and NFPA 72 fire alarm installation requirements. Its compact construction and ivory cover plate support installation in accessible electrical enclosures throughout commercial and institutional buildings.

The SK-MONITOR integrates with compatible Silent Knight IntelliKnight and addressable fire alarm systems, including documented control panel models such as the 5700, 5808, 5820XL, 5820XL-EVS, 6700, 6808, and 6820 series. These systems use the module to supervise connected mechanical contacts and conventional initiating devices while retaining individual module identification at the fire alarm control panel. Unlike the SK-MONITOR-2 dual-input monitor module or the SK-MON-10 ten-input monitor module, the SK-MONITOR provides a single supervised input for installations requiring one independently addressable monitoring point. Its combination of Class A/Class B wiring support, supervised input monitoring, programmable device addressing, and panel-controlled status indication makes it suitable for commercial fire alarm expansion, sprinkler system monitoring, and replacement applications using compatible Silent Knight equipment.
