The Securitron DM62 Double Magnalock provides electromagnetic locking for pairs of outswinging doors without a center mullion in commercial, institutional, and industrial access control systems. Manufactured by Securitron, an ASSA ABLOY brand, the assembly combines two M62 electromagnetic locks in a single 22-inch brushed stainless steel housing, with each magnet securing one door leaf. The compact double-magnet configuration eliminates the need for separate lock bodies while allowing both doors to operate independently. Its 1,200-pound holding force per lock supports controlled entrances in offices, healthcare facilities, educational buildings, warehouses, and perimeter access applications. The DM62 is designed for surface mounting on compatible door frames and supports indoor or outdoor use through its sealed construction.

The DM62 automatically operates on 12 or 24 VDC without manual voltage selection, drawing 250 mA at 12 VDC or 150 mA at 24 VDC per lock. With both magnets energized, total nominal current consumption is 500 mA at 12 VDC or 300 mA at 24 VDC. Its fail-safe operating design maintains magnetic holding force while power is applied and releases the doors when electrical power is removed. Securitron's patented instant-release circuitry eliminates residual magnetism, allowing the armature plates to separate without magnetic holding force remaining after de-energization. Built-in MOV surge suppression helps protect the electrical circuitry against switching transients. Each magnet can be controlled separately or both can operate together through an appropriately configured access control system, enabling different locking schedules and release arrangements for the two door leaves.

The Securitron DM62 features a brushed stainless steel housing with a US32D/630 architectural finish and plated ferrous components for corrosion resistance. The complete magnet housing measures 22 inches long, 3 inches high, and 1-3/4 inches deep, while each armature strike measures approximately 6 inches long, 2-3/4 inches high, and 1/2 inch thick. The assembly requires approximately 2-1/2 inches of flat mounting space and includes separate jacketed conductor leads for the two locks. Fully sealed, tamper-resistant electronics support operation from -40 F to 140 F (-40 C to 60 C). Optional BondSTAT magnetic bond monitoring and door position switches are available through separately ordered DM62B, DM62D, and DM62BD configurations. The standard DM62 does not include these monitoring options. Offset strike plates are also available for applications requiring additional alignment clearance.

The DM62 mounts to compatible door frames using steel machine screws and collapsing blind finishing nuts, providing a secure attachment for high-use double-door entrances. Installation requires centering the magnetic lock housing between the door leaves, mounting an individual floating armature to each door, and verifying complete contact between each armature and magnet face. The manufacturer identifies the optional ASCWB-DM62CL spacer bracket for selected aluminum, wood, and concrete-filled frame applications, while DM62-OS configurations accommodate offset strike requirements.
