The Keyscan CA8500 is an 8-reader, 8-door access control unit supporting up to 45,000 credentials per site. It includes the CA8500B controller board, 2 OCB8 relay boards, DPS-15 power supply, and locking metal enclosure with tamper switch. The controller provides 8 reader ports, 16 supervised auxiliary inputs, a 6,000-transaction buffer, and expandable input/output capacity for commercial access control systems.

The Keyscan CA8500 is a commercial access control unit designed to manage up to 8 doors and 8 credential readers from a single controller. The complete CA8500 package includes the CA8500B access control board, 2 OCB8 relay boards, 1 DPS-15 power supply, and 1 black metal enclosure with a lock and tamper switch. Its modular architecture supports new installations and expansion of existing Keyscan access control systems.

The CA8500 provides 8 supervised request-to-exit inputs, 8 door contact inputs, 16 supervised auxiliary inputs, 8 auxiliary output relays, and 8 door output relays. An optional IOCB1616 interface expands the system to as many as 64 additional inputs and 64 additional outputs. The included OCB8 boards provide additional relay functionality for applications such as pre-alert signaling, accessibility control, auxiliary devices, and global outputs.

The controller stores up to 45,000 credential holders per site, with 90,000 available through special-order hardware, and retains up to 6,000 transactions in its onboard buffer. The CA8500 accommodates 512 schedules, 511 groups, and 64 holiday dates. Auto-transfer functionality uploads buffered transactions after interrupted communications are restored, while dual processors and flash memory support continued access control operation at the controller level.

The Keyscan CA8500 is TCP/IP network ready and supports global communication between multiple access control units, servers, and sites when configured with compatible Keyscan communication modules. Reader settings support multiple Wiegand protocols, allowing the controller to work with Keyscan and compatible credential readers. Its 8-door capacity, expandable I/O architecture, removable terminal blocks, and integration with Keyscan Aurora make the CA8500 suitable for offices, educational facilities, healthcare properties, industrial sites, and multi-door commercial buildings.
