Low voltage power sources for home, commercial, and industrial usage, such as Edwards 590 Series Class 2 Signaling Transformers, are simple to install.

use the supplied foot mounts to surface mount or mounts in a standard 1/2" (13mm) knockout. These transformers can be mounted in back boxes made of plastic or metal. For enclosed mounting in a typical two gang outlet box, it may also be used in conjunction with the Cat. No. 593 transformer plate.

For light-duty applications, Edwards 590, 590Y, and 591 transformers are employed. In both home and commercial settings, they are perfect for conventional doorbells and chimes.

Both business and residential use is permitted for the 592 and 592Y transformers. For applications requiring longer wire lengths, like those required in multifamily housing, the 24V, 20VA secondary is suitable.

Applications requiring light duty use the 596 transformer. Both household and business applications can use it for typical doorbells and chimes. The various uses are expanded by many secondary voltages.

High power is available from the Edwards 598, 598Y, 599, and 599Y transformers for applications like door openers or long wire runs. Ideal for elevators in buildings and large apartments. The power requirements of the signal or load, as well as the wire run between the transformer and load, should be taken into consideration while choosing transformers.
