For both indoor and outdoor applications, Edwards PolarisTM Class LED beacons are NEMA Type 4X and IP66 rated visual signals. The units have a "Hidden in Plain Sight" (HIPS) switch that allows them to be field configured with seven flash patterns, including steady-on, and are available in Edwards' 57 Series housing in 12-24V DC, 24V AC, and 120V AC.

The inner, double fresnel lens is constructed to magnify the extremely bright LEDs inside and is made of premium polycarbonate. An impact-resistant polycarbonate dome that is clear on the outside provides further defense against unintentional collisions with machinery or falling items. Additionally, it serves as a safe and easy to clean "dust and residue" cover.

Beacons from the Polaris Class are intended to be placed on 3/4-inch NPT conduit (indoor or outdoor). The beacon must be installed outside with the dome facing directly up in order to preserve the NEMA and IP standards. The beacon can be mounted at any location when used indoors in dry settings.

The Polaris Class is intended for industrial or commercial uses where the durability of an LED and the brightness of a xenon strobe are required. In noisy environments when ear protection is used or audible signals might not be heard, these devices are particularly effective.
