Bosch Security RFDL-ZB Wireless detector, 40ft (12m), Zigbee

Using innovative signal processing, the RADION TriTech ZB Wireless Motion Detector combines passive infrared (PIR) and microwave Doppler radar detection technologies. This combination provides optimal protection to false alarms while ensuring catch performance for residential and light business applications. The detector has two Fresnel lenses designed to provide finely focused images throughout the whole field of vision, allowing for enhanced intrusion detection. The primary lens delivers a high density (77 zone) 7-layer pattern, while the selectable lookdown lens offers three additional lookdown zones. Simple installation and adjustable mounting height deliver cutting-edge detection while minimizing installation time and difficulty. Pet Friendly intelligence creates alert signals for human intruders while avoiding false alarms from pets.

In a home automation setting, this motion detector employs ZigBee technology, a global wireless standard for interfacing with both smart gadgets and security systems. This ZigBee-certified product is compatible with global 2.4GHz networks.

ZigBee technology employs a mesh network to keep devices connected and operating in tandem, while providing exceptional battery life. ZigBee wireless home automation solutions integrate security with operational and control devices, providing the consumer with convenience and peace of mind.

TriTech employs PIR and Doppler radar with sophisticated signal processing. When both technologies detect an intruder and this motion meets the alert criteria of the signal processing algorithm, an alarm condition is transmitted. By combining these two technologies, the detector eliminates false alerts caused by objects detected by a PIR-only detector. Additionally, the Doppler radar's sensitivity can be adjusted to meet specific application needs.

This characteristic prevents false alerts from non-human targets. It modifies the sensitivity of the detector according to signal amplitude, polarity, slope, and time. This eliminates the requirement for the installer to choose the level of sensitivity.

The installer can enable or disable pet immunity based on application requirements. When pet immunity is off, the detector's sensitivity is increased by roughly 20% for applications requiring greater catch performance. When pet immunity is enabled, the detector can differentiate between human and animal-generated signals. It disregards signals generated by one or two animals or pets weighing up to 45 kilograms (100 pounds) or several rats.

The noise adaptive processing of microwave Doppler radar responds to background disturbances. This decreases false alarms while maintaining catch effectiveness.

In the event that the Doppler radar subsystem malfunctions, single technology (PIR) coverage is ensured by patented, fully supervised Doppler radar circuitry.

This function monitors the ambient temperature and adapts the signal processing for optimal performance in temperature-sensitive conditions. White Light Suppression Active An inbuilt light sensor monitors the intensity of the light in front of the detector. Advanced signal processing prevents false alerts caused by sources of strong light.

Optics and electronics are combined in the front enclosure and covered with a protective cover to avoid damage during installation and keep out insects.

A 12 m × 12 m (40 ft x 40 ft) lookdown zone and coverage range provides wall-to-wall coverage. The self-locking sliding enclosure simplifies and expedites detector installation.

The built-in bi-axial bubble level allows you to align the detector base to the wall's contours or install the detector on an optional swivel mounting bracket.

The motion detector features a dual-battery compartment that allows for an extended battery life when a second lithium battery is added. To conserve battery life, LED and alarm indications are only visible and transmitted three minutes after the last alarm reset. The LED is only visible when the LED switch is activated.

To maximize battery life, the externally visible alarm LED can be disabled. For customer assurance, you can activate the LED to indicate motion detection. Leaving the LED on for approximately six months reduces battery life.
