For traffic management and after-hours use, the MS+� 1890 Series MS Deadlock/Deadlatch offers optimum security while still offering deadlatch ease during regular business hours.
Function: During business hours, traffic control management is available for your convenience along with maximum security MS+ deadlock. Three types of door control are typically used in a bank or shop installation:
1. When entering and exiting during business hours, both lock and latchbolts should be retracted.
2. A latch actuated by a handle for exit-only traffic immediately after closing
3. MS hookbolt with maximum security for overnight lockup. Handle or paddle only work the latchbolt when activated by trim (sold separately).
The hookbolt can be extended or retracted by turning the key or thumbturn 360 degrees. Latchbolt also retracts with a further 120� turn. Any normal 1" [25.4 mm] length, 1-5/32" [29.4 mm] diameter mortise cylinder with MS� cam, like the 4036 Mortise Cylinder, or thumbturn, like the 4066 Thumbturn, which are both independently available, are accepted by the lock. Cylinder can be inserted into the lock from one side or both. Handle only retracts the spring-loaded latchbolt when activated by trim (sold separately). Please contact the factory if the door thickness is greater than 1-3/4".
Cylinder Backset: 31/32" (24.6 mm), 1-1/8" (28.0 mm), or 1-1/2" (38.1 mm) are features.
Case: Depth varies with backset and measures 1" x 7-3/8" (25.4 mm x 187.3 mm) (see table on catalog page). Corrosion-resistant coating on steel
Deadlock bolt dimensions are 5/8" x 1-3/8" (15.9 mm x 34.9 mm) and the throw is 13/16" (20.6 mm). stainless steel with an eight-ply lamination. Centerply's alumina-ceramic core defends against hacksaw attacks, even from rod-type "super" hacksaws, and the door's hook design deters attempts to "spread" the door from its jamb or pull it off its track using pry bars.
Latchbolt: 7/16" [11.1 mm] throw, 5/8" x 5/8" [15.9 mm x 15.9 mm] in size. For silent, squeaky motion, use a zinc alloy with a Delrin face. Simple to reverse handling To enable unrestricted swinging of the door, the bolt can be held fully retracted (see illustration on back of catalog page).
Armored strike with steel mounting plate, satin stainless steel trimplate, and dustbox. furnished apartment Additionally offered for pairs of doors with radiused edges or flat jambs with square corners per ANSI hollow metal standards. Flat strikes are also offered with a longer lip. Use of the MS+1890 Deadlock/Latch with electric strikes is prohibited.
Standard Packaging: Each item is individually packed and includes machine screws for mounting. Thumbturn and/or cylinder are both sold separately.
