The Adams Rite 7400-335 is an UltraLine electric strike designed for aluminum, hollow metal, and wood door frames equipped with compatible deadlatches or cylindrical locks. The Adams Rite 7400-335 is a narrow-profile electric strike designed for electronically controlled commercial doors using compatible Adams Rite deadlatches and cylindrical locksets. Part of the UltraLine 7400 Series, it accommodates 1/2-inch to 5/8-inch latchbolt projection and works with Adams Rite 4500, 4900, and discontinued 4700 Series deadlatches. The strike replaces a conventional mechanical strike, allowing an access control system to release the latchbolt without retracting it through the lock mechanism. Its non-handed construction and 335 black anodized finish support installation in aluminum storefronts, hollow metal frames, and compatible wood door applications.

The 7400-335 features an adjustable stainless steel split-jaw keeper with over 1,500 lbs of holding force in fail-secure mode. The mechanism releases electrically under up to 25 lbs (11.3 kg) of door preload, accommodating pressure caused by building ventilation, door misalignment, or changes in door positioning. Its strike opening measures 5/8 inch adjustable x 1-7/16 inches wide x 1/2 inch deep, allowing installers to align the keeper with compatible latchbolts. The electric strike can be configured for fail-secure operation, which remains locked without power, or fail-safe operation, which unlocks when power is removed. These operating modes are field-selectable according to the access control and egress requirements of the installation.

The strike operates on 12 or 24 VDC using supplied plug-in voltage adapters, drawing 440 mA at 12 VDC or 230 mA at 24 VDC. Optional 16 VDC operation requires the separately available VA7400-16VDC adapter and draws approximately 460 mA. A quick-connect electrical connector simplifies connection to compatible access control power supplies and release circuits. The 7400 Series also offers monitored configurations with two Form C switches for latchbolt engagement and solenoid status; these monitoring functions are associated with the 7400M monitored models, rather than the standard 7400-335 configuration. The strike is suitable for integration with card readers, keypads, intercom systems, and electronically controlled door release equipment.

The 7400-335 electric strike includes a 1-1/4-inch-wide x 4-7/8-inch-high flat faceplate with radiused corners and a compact case measuring approximately 1-13/32 inches wide x 3-3/8 inches high x 1-1/16 inches deep. Its standard strike lip accommodates a 1-3/4-inch-thick door closing flush with the jamb edge, while optional LEK7400 lip extension kits support alternative door and frame configurations. Supplied mounting hardware includes mounting tabs, screws, adhesive shims, and an adjustable keeper shim pack. Manufacturer certifications include UL 1034 burglary-resistant listing, UL 294, ULC-S319, and ANSI/BHMA A156.31 Grade 1. The UL 1034 listing identifies the strike as suitable for outdoor use. Installation must follow the manufacturer's frame preparation, electrical wiring, and applicable door safety requirements.
