ESL Smoke Detectors and Magnetic Door Holders

This ESL catalog, sold under the UTC Interlogix and GE Security names, covers conventional 2-wire and 4-wire photoelectric smoke detectors, 449 and 429 Series heat and smoke detectors, 320A/350 Series 120VAC smoke alarms, electromagnetic door holders and extension rods, and detector test smoke. 2-Wire and 4-Wire Photoelectric Smoke Detectors

The 521 and 541 families are conventional, direct-wire photoelectric detectors with analog features such as CleanMe remote maintenance and trouble reporting, drift compensation and multi-criteria detection, and they report a visual and remote trouble condition if a unit drifts out of its sensitivity range or fails internal diagnostics. Two-wire sellers include the 521BXT with rate-of-rise and fixed temperature heat sensing, the 521B, the 521NCSXT with a temporal 3 sounder and heat sensor, and the 521NCRXT with an auxiliary relay.

Four-wire sellers include the 541NCSXTE with a temporal 3 sounder, heat sensor and power supervision relay, along with the 541NCRXT, 541NCSRXT, 541NCSXT, 541NCSRH, 541NBXT and 541C, and built-in dust compensation keeps detector performance steady over time.

449 and 429 Series Heat and Smoke Detectors

449 Series detectors are UL listed, 4-wire 12/24VDC photoelectric heat and smoke detectors with dual fixed temperature (135 degrees F) and rate-of-rise heat sensing rated for 50 feet, a field replaceable optical chamber for easy cleaning, and a design that reduces false alarms from dust, insects, RFI and external light. The 449CST adds an 85dBA sounder and runs from 8.5V to 33V with a 40mA alarm current, and sellers also include the 449CT, 449CSRT, 449CSTE, 449CRT and the 449CSRH with a sounder and auxiliary relay. The 449AT runs on 6/12VDC, and the 429CST is a 2-wire heat and smoke detector with an 85dBA sounder.

320A/350 Series 120VAC Smoke Alarms

320A/350 Series alarms are single or multiple station photoelectric AC smoke alarms for residential occupancies, including hotels, motels and dormitories. They work with existing 320 Series wiring, up to twelve units interconnect for tandem operation, and a test/silence button sits on the front. The 320ACC is an AC-only 120VAC alarm with an initiating alarm relay, the 320ACX adds a tandem initiated relay, and the 350CC is an AC/DC 120VAC alarm with a back-up battery and initiating alarm relay.

Electromagnetic Door Holders

DH Series electromagnetic door holders include the DHF-1224C chrome semi-flush holder, which needs no brackets and draws very little current, and the DHS-1224C surface mount holder in strong die-cast metal with an adhesive template for installation without brackets, both for 12 or 24 VDC/AC. Low residual magnetism gives an easy release, even on low pressure doors. Floor mount DHFM1-1224 (single coil) and DHFM2-1224 (dual coil) holders are stainless steel, a recess mount holder includes a 3 inch extension rod, and DH-ER3C (3 inch) and DH-ER1C (1 inch) chrome extension rods adapt to the door and wall gap, with brass versions listed as well.

Detector Testing and Accessories

SM200-12PKG Smoke in a Can (12 pack) supports in-place detector testing, which NFPA 72, Table 7.2.2 requires to confirm smoke entry into the sensing chamber and an alarm response. A 6-inch mounting base for 711U and 711UT detectors is also listed.

More UTC and GE Security Lines

For door contacts, glassbreak detectors and panic switches, see UTC (Formerly GE Security/Sentrol). UTC (Formerly GE Security/Caddx) covers NetworX hybrid panels and SAW door/window sensors, and UTC Fire & Security includes 319.5MHz wireless sensors such as the TX-E721 PIR.
