UTC Interlogix NetworX Panels, Keypads and Sensors

This catalog is the NetworX intrusion line and the wireless sensors that report to it, sold under UTC, Interlogix, GE Security and Caddx labels over the years. NetworX Control Panels and Kits

The NetworX panels are hybrid, meaning hardwired and wireless zones on the same board, and they are listed by onboard zone count with an expansion ceiling. The NX-4 is the 4-zone panel; the NX-6 is a 6-zone panel expandable to 12 hardwired or 16 wireless zones with 2 independent partitions, 40 user codes, a 512-event history log and a built-in 2-tone siren driver; the NX-8 is an 8-zone panel expandable to 48 zones with up to 8 partitions, 99 user codes and 4 programmable outputs, supporting SIA and Contact ID reporting.

The NX-8E is the large one, with eight hardwire zone inputs and expansion to 192 fully programmable hardwired or wireless zones, four programmable outputs to drive external devices on an alarm, and support for burglary, fire and environmental detection. All of them take 2-wire and 4-wire smoke detectors. Panels are listed board only for a swap into an existing can, and as kits bundling the panel, an LED or LCD keypad and a 16.5VAC 40VA transformer.

Keypads and Expansion Modules

NetworX LED keypads work with the full line of NetworX control panels and are listed for 8, 16 or 24 zones in heavy-duty white ABS plastic, with coil cord versions of the 8 and 24 zone models. LCD keypads are listed alongside them, including the versions bundled in the panel kits and an RF model for wireless systems.

Expansion is modular. The 16-zone hardwire expander works with NX-8, NX-8E and NX8V2 panels to a maximum zone count of 48 and can be mounted up to 2500 feet from the control panel. A telephone interface module converts any touchtone telephone into a system keypad for on premise or off-site access, with 48 separate zone descriptions programmable from a 182-word library. A SuperBus 2000 RS-232 automation module connects a third-party automation device to a compatible panel, and tamper switches with brackets cover the enclosure.

Wireless Door and Window Sensors

Door and window sensors are the volume item here and come in three sizes. SAW sensors protect anything that opens and closes and ship with a terminal block. Crystal sensors are the standard size, listed in white and brown. Micro crystal sensors are UL approved, completely wireless, and small enough for drawers, safes and cabinets, powered by a 3VDC lithium coin-cell with an estimated battery life of 5 to 8 years.

DesignLine slim sensors cover doors, windows and cabinets where the installation has to stay discreet, with flexible mounting configurations. Micro magnets are listed in 10-packs for replacing the magnet half on its own, and sensors are listed individually and in 25-packs for a whole house.

Motion, Glassbreak and Heat Detection

Motion detection covers indoor pet immune PIR detectors with a 40 by 40 foot cover pattern, three sensitivity settings, a 3-minute motion lockout and a 5 year battery life, and outdoor detectors that use two independent passive infrared sensors to detect and confirm movement, with variable pulse count and three selectable detection ranges.

The Solution 2000 Series glassbreak sensors use patented microprocessor based 3x3 technology, identifying and qualifying data from three specific frequency ranges to decide whether a sound matches the signature of breaking glass, with a maximum detection range of 20 to 25 feet and surface or flush mounting. Learn mode shock sensors detect the vibration of a forced window or door before entry and contain two internal reed switches so they double as a contact, and rate-of-rise and fixed temperature heat detectors cover rooms too dusty for optical smoke detection.

Keyfobs, Panic and Water Sensors

The 4 button micro keyfob arms and disarms wirelessly, activates police or auxiliary panic alarms, and turns lights on or off from up to 500 feet away, with an indented arm button so it can be pressed without looking. DesignLine 4-button keyfobs are listed alongside it.

Panic devices cover water-resistant pendants that can be worn around the neck and learn mode single button panic transmitters. SAW water sensors detect leaks in homes and businesses using a detector and a transmitter, which is the other call an unattended building makes at 3 a.m.

Sirens, Speakers and Sounders

Sounders run from exterior sirens through Concord Express dual tone sirens to UL listed interior piezo speakers with a combination mount. Two-way voice kits are supported with speaker and microphone modules, and an audio verification module is listed for central stations that listen in on an alarm.

Transformers, Batteries and Accessories

Every panel needs a 16.5VAC 40VA Class II transformer, listed in plain and power line carrier versions for Concord systems. Backup batteries are listed at 12VDC 7.0AH and 4AH for panels, 6V for SX-V and SX-IV systems, lithium 9 volt for control panels and alkaline 6-packs for keychain touchpads. RJ45 phone jacks for the alarm connection, 4-wire flying leads for auxiliary outputs and a toolbox modem kit for remote programming finish the list.
