Hold Up Buttons and Panic Switches

A hold-up button raises a silent alarm from a counter, a till or a desk, so the specification is about how it behaves once pressed rather than how it looks.

Two actions are listed. A momentary switch signals while it is held and resets when released, and a latching switch stays in alarm until it is reset, which suits a hold-up where nobody can stand at the button. Switch types are SPDT and DPDT, with three or six screw terminals, solder terminals and combinations of both, and some models add a flashing LED.
