The System Sensor SCRLED is an L-Series ceiling-mount LED strobe designed to provide visual fire alarm notification in commercial and institutional buildings. Featuring a red housing, clear lens, FIRE lettering, and seven field-selectable candela settings from 15 to 177 cd, the device delivers synchronized visual signaling through compatible notification appliance circuits. Operating on 16-33 VDC with nominal 24 VDC power, the two-wire strobe incorporates energy-efficient LED technology, a plug-in mounting design, and diagnostic voltage test points for installation and maintenance.

The System Sensor SCRLED L-Series LED Strobe provides visual fire alarm notification for commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, hotels, and other occupied spaces requiring ceiling-mounted signaling devices. Featuring a red housing with FIRE lettering and a clear LED lens, the SCRLED operates as a two-wire visual notification appliance connected to a compatible fire alarm notification appliance circuit (NAC). Its LED technology reduces electrical current demand compared with traditional xenon strobe designs, helping optimize notification circuit capacity and power supply requirements. The ceiling-mounted configuration provides visual signaling for building occupants while maintaining a consistent appearance with other System Sensor L-Series notification appliances.
The SCRLED features seven field-selectable candela settings of 15, 30, 75, 95, 115, 150, and 177 cd, allowing installers to configure visual notification intensity according to room dimensions and applicable fire alarm design requirements. The strobe operates at a nominal 24 VDC with an operating range of 16-33 VDC and produces approximately one flash per second. Designed for indoor environments, the appliance supports operating temperatures from 32 F to 120 F (0 C to 49 C) and relative humidity levels from 10% to 93% noncondensing. The device measures 6.83 inches (173.5 mm) in diameter and 2.07 inches (52.6 mm) deep, including the lens, and accommodates 12-18 AWG field wiring.
The System Sensor SCRLED incorporates a plug-in mounting system with a universal mounting plate and integrated shorting spring, enabling installers to verify notification circuit wiring continuity before attaching the appliance. Field-selectable candela output is configured using a rotary switch, while integrated digital voltage meter (DVM) diagnostic test points allow voltage measurements without removing the strobe from its mounting location. The device supports synchronization through System Sensor Sync protocol-compatible fire alarm control panels, power supplies, or MDL3 synchronization modules, allowing coordinated flashing across compatible notification appliances. Electrical compatibility with legacy SpectrAlert, SpectrAlert Advance, and L-Series notification devices supports upgrades to existing fire alarm installations, subject to control panel and power supply requirements.
The System Sensor SCRLED Ceiling-Mount Strobe supports installation on single-gang, double-gang, 4-inch octagonal, and compatible 4-inch square electrical boxes, with the optional SBBCRL surface-mount back box available for exposed wiring applications. Its tamper-resistant construction, selectable visual output, and low-current LED technology make it suitable for new fire alarm systems and notification appliance modernization projects. Manufacturer documentation identifies UL and ULC listings, FM approval, and California State Fire Marshal (CSFM) approvals for the L-Series LED notification appliance family. As a dedicated visual notification device, the SCRLED does not include an audible horn or speaker. Installation, candela selection, circuit loading, synchronization, and appliance spacing must comply with NFPA 72, manufacturer instructions, and applicable local fire codes.
