The System Sensor P2GWKLED is a white, compact, outdoor-rated L-Series LED horn strobe designed for audible and visual fire alarm notification in wet, dry, and exposed environments. Featuring seven field-selectable candela settings of 15, 30, 75, 95, 110, 135, and 185 cd, it combines an electronic horn with an energy-efficient LED strobe. The appliance operates on regulated 24 VDC power within a 16-33 VDC range and provides eight selectable horn tone and volume combinations. Its NEMA 4X/IP56 weather-resistant construction, -40 F to 151 F operating range, and System Sensor synchronization compatibility support outdoor commercial fire alarm installations.
System Sensor P2GWKLED Outdoor LED Horn Strobe, White, 15-185 Candela, 24 VDC
The System Sensor P2GWKLED L-Series LED Horn Strobe provides combined audible and visual emergency notification for commercial and institutional fire alarm systems. Manufactured by System Sensor, a Honeywell brand, this compact, two-wire, wall-mounted notification appliance features a white housing with FIRE lettering, an electronic horn, and an LED strobe with selectable light intensity. Designed for outdoor and wet-location installations, the P2GWKLED carries NEMA 4X, Type 4X, and IP56 environmental ratings without requiring the backbox itself to establish the weather-resistant seal. Its durable enclosure supports fire alarm notification at exterior entrances, parking structures, industrial facilities, loading areas, schools, warehouses, and other locations exposed to moisture or extreme temperatures.
The P2GWKLED offers seven field-selectable strobe settings of 15, 30, 75, 95, 110, 135, and 185 candela, allowing system designers to configure visual notification coverage according to the installation. The integrated electronic horn provides eight selectable tone and volume combinations, including high- and low-volume Temporal-3, continuous, and 3.1 kHz signaling patterns. Manufacturer-published sound output ratings range from 75 to 85 dBA, depending on the selected tone and volume. An accessible rotary selector allows installers to configure the audible output and candela setting, while the selected candela value can be verified through a window on the appliance. The LED strobe operates at approximately one flash per second and uses lower current than many previous-generation xenon notification appliances.
The System Sensor P2GWKLED operates from a regulated 24 VDC notification appliance circuit (NAC), with a listed operating voltage range of 16-33 VDC. Its two-wire configuration supports electrical connections through the manufacturer's weatherproof mounting plate and compatible fire alarm control equipment. Eaton-independent System Sensor synchronization technology allows the appliance to operate with compatible System Sensor synchronization modules, fire alarm control panels, and listed power supplies. The manufacturer's August 2024 datasheet specifies maximum horn-strobe currents ranging from 35 mA at 15 cd to 190 mA at 185 cd, depending on the selected audible configuration. LED technology reduces circuit loading compared with many older xenon-based devices, while backward electrical compatibility supports replacement of selected legacy SpectrAlert appliances when installed with the required updated mounting hardware.
The P2GWKLED measures approximately 5.84 inches high, 3.76 inches wide, and 1.87 inches deep (148 95.5 47.5 mm), according to System Sensor's outdoor installation instructions. Its compact wall-mounted design supports the SBBGWL white surface-mount backbox, which increases the installed assembly depth to approximately 3.72 inches. The mounting system includes a weather-resistant backplate and waterproof wiring connectors, with field conductors sized from 12-18 AWG. Its rated operating temperature range is -40 F to 151 F (-40 C to 66 C), making it suitable for demanding outdoor environments. The horn is listed to ANSI/UL 464 and ULC-S525, while the visual notification function is listed to ANSI/UL 1638 and ULC-S526 for applicable public-mode signaling applications. The standard P2GWKLED features English FIRE lettering; the P2GWKLED-P has a plain cover, and the P2GWKLED-B includes bilingual FIRE/FEU lettering. Installation must follow System Sensor's current mounting, synchronization, current calculation, and NFPA 72 requirements.
