Communicating Bathroom Push Switches
SDC CB series push switches control communicating bathroom systems, where a common single bathroom is shared by two patient rooms or dormitory rooms, so both doors are locked only when the bathroom is occupied and unlocked when it is not occupied.
The CB401-AU and CB402-AU are single gang satin stainless steel controls located inside the bathroom: depressing the button locks both doors for privacy, and pressing the button again unlocks both doors. The CB401-AU has an alternate action SPDT switch, and the CB402-AU has a momentary SPDT switch with a 12 V DC or 24 V DC input, marked Bathroom Lock, Both Doors Must be Closed to Lock, Light on Door Locked, Push to Lock or Unlock.
The CB401-B and CB402-B are red push switches whose illuminated lens indicates the doors are locked, and depressing the push switch unlocks both doors, providing emergency access by facility staff. The CB401-B has an alternate action SPDT switch, and the CB402-B has a momentary SPDT switch marked Emergency Release, Push to Unlock Door.
