BPS Linear Power Supplies

With a sturdy steel enclosure and an uninterruptible stream of super clean power, the Securitron Boxed Power Supply (BPS) offers the best of both worlds for all linear power supply needs. It's perfect for use with sensitive security devices like card readers, electric strikes, and maglocks, and has several amp sizes to fit a wide range of power needs.

The BPS comes with many options so that you can pick the model that best fits your project. They come with either one, four or eight outputs that put out either 12 or 24 VDC, and are protected by polyswitch PTC 2 Amp circuit breakers. You'll be able to easily connect or disconnect the load from power thanks to its slide switches in all but the 1 Amp BPS-12-1 model. Each output is on a separate current limited automatic circuit breaker, and the power status of each circuit is indicated by its own LED, which instantly tell you if there is voltage or not.

There are multiple protective features to keep the power supply operating properly. These units have the ability to keep the sealed lead acid gel/cell battery fully charged in the event of a voltage failure, but the battery is not included and must be purchased separately. If the fire alarm is activated, there is a fire alarm relay connection that will release all devices to make sure exit through the door is quick. If there is a DC short, it will be kept within the zone it occurs in, so that power to other areas isn't stopped. You can also purchase a Power Supply Monitor that will keep track of all key functions and report any issues, including ones with the battery pack.

The BPS has an input voltage of 120 VAC, and an operating temperature of 32 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit, or 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. There are two safety hazards to be aware of with this unit. The line voltage input is a high voltage shock hazard, and the DC output is a high energy hazard. The current could get high enough to melt wiring insulation and cause a fire. The cover LED will always let you know if there is a dangerous situation, and should be consulted before opening the enclosure. If there is ever a problem with the unit, it is covered by the MagnaCare lifetime replacement warranty with no fault.

The BPS-12-1 and BPS-24-1 have one output and 1 Amp capacity. There are both 12" by 9" by 4" and ship at 9 lbs. The BPS-12-3 and BPS-24-2 have four outputs, and the former has a 3 Amp capacity while the latter has a 2 Amp capacity. They are 14" by 14" by 4" and ship at 15 lbs. The BPS-12-45 and BPS-24-3 have four outputs, and the former has a 4.5 Amp capacity, while the latter has a 3 Amp capacity. They are 14" by 14" by 4" and ship at 18 lbs. The BPS-12-6 and BPS-24-4 have eight outputs, and the former has a capacity of 6 Amps while the latter has a 4 Amp capacity. They are 15" by 18" by 6" and ship at 24 lbs. The BPS-12-9 and BPS-24-6 have eight outputs, and the former has a 9 Amp capacity while the latter has 6 Amps. They are 15" by 18" by 6" and ship at 28 lbs. The BPS-12-15 and BPS-24-10 have eight outputs, and the former has a 15 Amp capacity while the latter has a 10 Amp capacity. They are 15" by 18" by 6" and they ship at 33 lbs. The BPS-12 models all have 12 VDC output, while the BPS-24 models have an output of 24 VDC.

The BPSM is the perfect product to take your access control power needs to the next level. It combines a high quality power supply that provides clean, efficient power, with a self-monitoring system to help you keep on top of any failures or battery problems. Some fire alarm systems with auxiliary relays just can't manage the full current of the power supply, and this is where the reliability of the BPSM comes in.

If there is an AC failure or DC battery failure, it will be shown by status LED indicators that are simple to interpret and provide an instant visual of the power supply's state. There are also 3 Amp SPDT AC status output terminals that will give you information in real time, and 3 Amp Form "C" battery status output terminals that will tell you the status of the battery. In the event of a fire, there are emergency low-current terminals to release power.

The BPSM has 2 Amp polyswitch PTC output breakers that protect its eight outputs, which let you connect to several different devices. It's easy to connect or disconnect each control circuit from power with its own individual slide switch. It doesn't come with a battery, but if you purchase one separately it has the ability to quickly charge and switch over to the sealed lead acid-gel standby battery in case there is a power failure, and the battery will automatically disconnect if the voltage drops below 10.4 VDC (for 12 VDC models) or 20.8 VDC (for 24 VDC models) to keep it from being drained too deeply and damaging the system.

The input voltage is 120 VAC, and the 12 VDC models come in 6 Amp, 9 Amp and 15 Amp versions. The 24 VDC models come in 4 Amp, 6 Amp, and 10 Amp versions. The unit operates between 32 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit, or 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. All models are 15" wide, 8" high and 6" deep.

There are two safety issues to keep in mind with this unit. The line voltage could create a high voltage shock, and the DC/battery output is a high energy hazard. These could create a situation where the wiring insulation melts and starts a fire. To avoid this, check to see if the cover LED is on and red. If so, that means there is potential for a dangerous situation and any trained service personnel should take caution when opening the unit.

There are several models of the BPSM. The BPSM-12-6, BPSM-12-9, and BPSM-12-15 all have 12 VDC voltage with 6 Amps, 9 Amps, and 15 Amps respectively. The BPSM-24-4, BPSM-24-6 and BPSM-24-10 all have 24 VDC voltage, and 4 Amps, 6 Amps, and 10 Amps respectively. The BPSM-12-6 and BPSM-24-4 ship at 24 lbs. The BPSM-12-9 and BPSM-24-6 ship at 28 lbs. The BPSM-12-15 and BPSM-24-10 ship at 33 lbs.

There are a variety of patents, approvals and listings available for the BPSM that will inform you about the materials and quality behind the products:
