The Schlage ND10 is the passage latch function (ANSI F75) of the ND Series, Schlage heavy duty Grade 1 cylindrical lock. Levers on both sides retract the springlatch at all times, with no key and no locking, and the inside lever is always free for immediate egress. It is the workhorse for corridor doors, offices, and any opening that needs a durable latching lever without security.
What separates the ND Series from lighter cylindrical locks is margin over the standard. It resists 3,100 in-lb of abusive lever torque, which is over 690 lbs applied to the end of a 4-1/2 inch lever and 2.6 times the BHMA requirement. It restricts entry against 1,600 lbs of offset lever pull (8x BHMA), withstands 100 vertical impacts (20x BHMA), and shows near zero droop and wobble after 16 million cycles (16x BHMA) without set screws or O-rings.
Inside is a modular zinc and steel chassis with a cast steel spindle and solid cast levers, plus an adjustment plate and hands free torque plate that make installation fast. Choose from nine lever designs and nine finishes plus a 626AM antimicrobial coating, with a 10 year mechanical warranty behind it.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does ND10 mean?
- It is the Schlage function code for the passage latch, ANSI F75. Levers on both sides retract the latch at all times and the door does not lock.
- Does it take a key or a cylinder?
- No. The ND10 is a non-keyed function. There is nothing to lock, so no cylinder is ordered with it. If you need the door to lock, look at the keyed ND functions such as office, classroom, or storeroom.
- Why pay for Grade 1 on a door that does not lock?
- Cycle life and abuse resistance. A corridor or office door gets used constantly, and the ND Series shows near zero droop and wobble after 16 million cycles without set screws or O-rings, and takes 3,100 in-lb of abusive lever torque. On a high traffic passage door that is exactly where cheaper locks fail.
- Which lever designs are available?
- Nine: Athens, Boardwalk, Broadway, Latitude, Longitude, Omega, Rhodes, Sparta, and Tubular. Tactile versions are available for applications that require them.
- Does the lever choice matter for code?
- It can. For the California Fire Code, levers with a return to door of 1/2 inch or less comply, which covers Rhodes, Sparta, Tubular, Omega, Longitude, and Boardwalk. Confirm the lever design against your local requirements.
- Can it go on a fire door?
- Yes. It is UL 10C and CAN/ULC-S104 listed for a 3 hour A label single fire door up to 4 ft by 10 ft. Pairs of doors are covered at 8 ft by 8 ft for 3 hours, or 8 ft by 10 ft for 90 minutes, when the 3/4 inch latch option is specified.
- Can I get a request to exit signal from a passage lock?
- Yes. The RX option is offered on the ND10, so the lock can signal the access control system when someone operates the lever, even though the door itself does not lock. Specify RX under special options.
- What door thicknesses and backsets does it fit?
- Standard is 1-5/8 to 2-1/8 inch doors on a 2-3/4 inch backset. Optional configurations cover 1-3/8 inch up to 6 inch doors, and 2-3/8, 3-3/4, and 5 inch backsets.
- Is there an antimicrobial option?
- Yes, an antimicrobial coating on the 626 satin chrome finish, ordered as 626AM.
- What is the warranty?
- 10 years mechanical, and 3 years electro-mechanical on electrified product.
