Cameras split two ways here. IP cameras run over the network with H.265, H.264 and MJPEG codecs, WiseStream bandwidth control, WDR and on-board analytics, at resolutions from 2MP to 4K and above. Analog cameras run over coax in AHD, TVI, CVI and CVBS formats, which is what keeps an older cabled site working without rewiring.

Within each, bodies follow the job: box cameras where the lens is chosen separately, bullets where the aim should be obvious, domes and vandal domes where it should not, fisheye and multi-sensor for wide coverage, PTZ for following movement, and thermal, explosion proof, stainless steel and mobile rated models for sites a standard dome cannot handle.
