Rixson Pivots, Floor Closers and Door Holders

Offset and Center Hung Pivots

Pivot sets are listed by offset, by handing and by what is included. Offset pivots run 3/4 inch and 1-1/2 inch, listed as top pivots, intermediate pivots and complete offset hung pivot sets that include the 180 top pivot or two intermediate pivots.

Center hung pivots are listed by door thickness, for 1-3/4 inch doors and for 2 inch doors or greater, with less top pivot versions, H arm versions, a side jamb attached pivot including the 320 top pivot, and sets including the 340 top pivot. Electrified intermediate pivots carry an 8-wire power transfer through the 3/4 inch offset for an electrified lock on the leaf.

Right handed and left handed are listed as separate parts. Finishes run satin chromium plated, satin bronze clear coated, bright brass, bright nickel plated, dark oxidized satin bronze oil rubbed and black suede powder coat. Pivot hex caps, screw kits and arm shims are listed for service.

Concealed Floor Closers

A concealed floor closer is set into the floor under the door, where nothing can be mounted above it. Closers are listed offset hung and center hung, single acting and double acting, at 90 degree and 105 degree.

The hold open choice is the one to get right: no hold open, selective hold open and automatic hold open are separate part numbers on the same body. Duty runs standard, heavy duty and extra heavy duty, with shallow depth versions for a thin slab, sealed versions with cold weather fluid for an exposed entrance, and lead lined closers for a radiology door.

Most are listed both complete and as less all parts or less floor plate, so a replacement body drops into an existing cement case rather than needing the floor opened up again.

Overhead Concealed Closers and Stops

Overhead concealed closers mount in the head frame, listed at 90 degree with hold open in architectural grade, complete or less all parts, with top arm packages and arm assemblies listed separately for service.

Stops and holders cover concealed heavy duty stops, concealed friction stays, low profile stops, concealed overhead holder stops and concealed low profile multifunction stop and hold units. The 10 Series is the standard duty range, listed as an overhead holder and as a multi function stop and holder, with heavy duty surface stops for a surface application.

Electromagnetic Door Holders and Releases

An electromagnetic door holder keeps a fire door open on normal power and drops it on an alarm. Holders are listed wall mounted and semi recessed in aluminum, with tri-volt models that accept more than one supply voltage and non-detectored pull side mounting versions.

The parts around them are listed individually and are what most service calls need: door armatures, armature extension bases at 1-1/2 inch, spacers at 5 inch and 90 degree bend spacers that must be used with the 900 base, covers for the 994M, 996M, 997M and 998M, 3V magnets for the 980, 981, 989, 990 and 999, and back boxes.
