Specialty Contact Switches
High Security, Plunger & Tamper Switches
These Potter Amseco switches go beyond standard magnetic contacts, with defeat resistant high security sensors along with mechanical plunger, roller ball, and tamper switches.
The BMC-33B anti-defeat double bias contact uses reed switches pre-set in a biased format with ring magnets, so any attempt to bypass or defeat it with an external magnet imbalances the magnetic fields and causes an alarm. The P2 High Security Switch with Magnasphere technology meets the UL 634 Level 2 High Security Standard and standards for use with SCIF applications, resists external and internal magnetic defeat, and resists permanent contact welding due to lightning, power surges, or stun guns. It is offered as the P2S-000 single contact, the P2S-001 with a 1K embedded resistor, and the P2D000 dual contact, and 1/16 inch spacers for the P2 are listed. The HSC-1 high security contact monitors the open or closed position of safe and vault doors.
For mechanical protection, the TSW-2T tamper switch is designed for securing bell boxes and security control panels, the PSW-1 plunger switch can be used as a tamper switch, and the RSW-21A roller ball switches use a hardened stainless steel ball and fit into a drilled hole for recessed mounting.
