Heat Detectors
Conventional Heat Detectors
Potter's Thermoflex conventional heat detectors come in two operating types. CF models are fixed temperature only and operate when the detector reaches its rated temperature. CR models combine fixed temperature with rate-of-rise, which operates when the temperature at the detector increases at 15°F per minute; the rate-of-rise portion is restorable, while the fixed temperature portion is non-restorable.
Fixed temperature settings are listed at 135, 165, 200, and 285°F. Standard versions have a white plastic housing, MP (modified pigtail) models add protection against moisture laden environments, and -2 models such as the CF-135-2 are dual normally open. Models include the CF-200MP, a 200 degree moisture-proof fixed temperature detector, the CF-135MP, and the CR-135CW, a 135°F fixed temperature with rate of rise detector with UL, ULC, CSFM and FM listings. The detectors have a low profile design, mount to a 4 inch octagon backbox, and have contact ratings of 3 amps at 125VAC and 1 amp at 28VDC.
Heat detectors are used for the protection of property, and smoke detectors are required in situations involving life safety. See conventional smoke detector bases, rate compensated heat detectors, or all fire products. Browse the full Potter catalog. Contact our team to choose a temperature rating.
