Leviton Structured Cabling and Wiring Devices

Leviton covers a low voltage job from the wallplate back to the rack: QuickPort wallplates, housings and snap-in modules, copper jacks and connectors in Cat 5e through Cat 6A, patch cords and patch panels, Opt-X fiber enclosures and adapter plates, Structured Media Centers for residential and multi-unit distribution, and the occupancy sensors, dimmers and surge protective devices on the line voltage side. QuickPort Wallplates and Housings

QuickPort is the modular system the rest of the copper line plugs into. Single gang flush mount wallplates offer field-configurable flexibility in a single-piece housing, with a choice of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 ports for future expansion, and they are fully compatible with all QuickPort snap-in modules including connectors and blank fillers. Angled and stainless steel versions are listed alongside the flush plates, in white, ivory, light almond, brown, grey and black.

Surface mount housings run from 1 port to 12 port where there is no back box, with surface mount backboxes at 1.89 inches deep for the same situation. Snap-in modules cover far more than data: duplex Type 106 telephone inserts, 6P4C telephone wall jacks, nickel plated BNC and F-Type adapters with feedthrough RCA and F connectors, gold plated RCA connectors striped by color, binding post adapters and blank inserts. The Multimedia Outlet System adds dual-gang MOS wallplates and blank MOS modules that snap in from the front or the side and keep debris out of an unused opening.

Copper Jacks and Connectors

Jacks are listed by category, shielding and color, which is how a job gets color coded by service. Atlas-X1 covers Cat 6 and Cat 6A in UTP and shielded, with shuttered versions and 6-pack and 12-pack cartons. The eXtreme Cat 6+ connector includes patented Retention Force Technology for consistent performance over the life of the system and pair separation towers for quicker terminations, in a 180 configuration with the punch field in the back for rear termination. The 10 Gig snap-in jacks are labelled for T568A and B wiring.

GigaMax Cat 5e QuickPort connectors carry dual-color wiring labels for both T568A and T568B and meet or exceed channel-rated Category 5e performance per TIA/EIA-568-B, and HOME 5e connectors cover residential work. EZ-RJ45 connectors and 110 wiring blocks are listed for the terminations QuickPort does not cover.

Patch Cords and Patch Panels

Patch cords are listed by category, length and color in Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 6A, in UTP and FTP, with slim and standard jackets. The eXtreme High-Flex HD6 cords are built for 1 Gigabit applications across 1 to 250 MHz and reduce patch cord density in a 24-port patch panel by 38 percent compared with typical Cat 6 cords, which is what a crowded rack needs.

QuickPort patch panels are listed 24 port 1U and 48 port 2U, in flat, angled, shielded and recessed versions, so the panel takes the same jacks as the wallplates. Cable management covers hook and loop wrap rolls, solid duct with cover and VERSI-DUCT mounting brackets, with fish and cut tools and jacket strippers for the install itself.

Fiber Enclosures and Adapter Plates

Opt-X SDX adapter plates are the fiber equivalent of a QuickPort module: 6-fiber ST, 12-fiber LC and SC, 24-fiber LC and MTP keyed up and down, in singlemode and multimode, with blank plates for unused positions. HDX 12-fiber OS2 LC splice modules and an HDX to SDX conversion adapter cover the higher density side.

Enclosures are listed as Mini, small and medium SDX wall mount units and Opt-X 1000i 1RU fiber rack enclosures, empty or with a tray. FastCAM LC OS2 field connectors and OM3 SC to LC patch cords finish the link.

Structured Media Centers

The Structured Media Center is the residential and multi-unit distribution point, listed as 28 inch and 42 inch enclosures with flush mount and hinged covers sold separately. Modules drop into the same can: AC power modules, Cat 5e boards, telephone and video panels, 1x8 2 GHz splitters with brackets and QuickPort mounting brackets.

Surge protective AC power modules and J-Box kits work with the Series 140, 280 and 420 Structured Media Centers, provide EMI and RFI filtering meeting UL 1449, and carry two 15-Amp duplex receptacles on the module or one on the J-Box kit. A compact recessed entertainment box with a low profile frame covers basic telephone and video for multi-unit buildings.

Occupancy Sensors and Lighting Controls

Lighting controls cover ceiling mounted occupancy sensors rated for 500 square feet, 24V high-bay PIR sensors, wall switch PIR sensors with a 180 degree pattern, 1800W occupancy sensors and versions with a night light built in. Wire-in RF receiver switches and wireless handheld remotes cover retrofits where no traveler wire exists, and Decora Smart Wi-Fi dimmers and dual slide dimmers cover the dimming side. Color change kits are listed for the two button wall switch.

Surge Protection and Wiring Devices

Surge protection runs from the outlet to the panel: Decora 15A and 20A surge duplex receptacles at the device, panel mounted surge protective devices, and single phase 120/240V and three phase wye 120/208V surge panels for the service. Blank wallplates in brown and stainless steel, combination wallplates for toggle and Decora openings, Renu snap-on plates and an Omni IP video intercom door station round out the line.
