Kantech KT-4 Four-Door Access Control Controller

The Kantech KT-4 is a scalable four-door access controller designed for commercial access control systems ranging from individual facilities to distributed multi-site installations. The controller manages up to 4 doors and 100,000 users while supporting configurations with up to 8 compatible readers for 4-door IN/OUT control. Native EntraPass integration provides centralized credential administration, door monitoring, event management, and system configuration across networked Kantech installations.

The KT-4 provides 16 onboard monitored inputs and 4 onboard Form C relay outputs rated at 30 VDC, 3 A each. Its monitored inputs support normally open or normally closed circuits without end-of-line resistors, single EOL supervision, and double EOL supervision. Expansion modules extend the system to up to 256 inputs or 256 outputs, supporting applications that require additional door contacts, request-to-exit devices, relays, sensors, elevator interfaces, or other monitored points.

Network communication includes a 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet interface, 2 RS-485 ports, and 1 RS-232 interface. Optional Wi-Fi adds wireless network connectivity, while an optional PoE module supports PoE+ and PoE++ power configurations. A standard 4-door PoE installation requires PoE++ with up to 62 W of available power. Communication with EntraPass uses 128-bit AES encryption, helping protect controller-to-host network communications.

The KT-4 supports both EntraPass-managed and standalone access control. Standalone Mode uses the controller's embedded web server, allowing basic four-door security configuration through a web browser without an EntraPass host system. The controller supports reader technologies including OSDP, Kantech RS-485, Wiegand, proximity, ABA Clock and Data, barcode, magnetic stripe, integrated keypad, and smartcard readers. Removable color-coded terminal blocks simplify field wiring and service, while compatibility with expansion modules provides a migration path for larger access control and elevator-control applications.
