Honeywell PROWLTOUCHWA ProSeries 7-Inch Wireless Touchscreen Wall Mount and Charging Kit

The Honeywell Home PROWLTOUCHWA is a wall-mount accessory designed to secure and charge compatible 7-inch wireless security touchscreens. Manufactured by Resideo, the kit supports the Honeywell Home PROWLTOUCH, Resideo PROWLTOUCHC, and First Alert VISTAHTCHWLC touchscreen keypads used with compatible ProSeries and VISTA H3 security systems. Its wall-mounted cradle provides a fixed location for touchscreen operation while maintaining electrical connections for battery charging. The updated mounting design reduces keypad movement during touchscreen operation, supporting installation in residential entrances, offices, and other indoor security system locations.

The PROWLTOUCHWA includes a 9V power transformer and integrated charging circuitry designed to support longer power wiring distances than the discontinued PROWLTOUCHWM wall mount. Maximum supported wire runs are 277 feet using 16 AWG, 174 feet using 18 AWG, 110 feet using 20 AWG, or 68 feet using 22 AWG conductors. Installations using two twisted 22 AWG conductors support runs up to 136 feet. These distances allow the wall mount to be positioned away from the electrical outlet while maintaining the required charging voltage at the touchscreen. The supplied transformer connects to a 110 VAC, 60 Hz unswitched electrical outlet, with field wiring connecting the transformer to the mounting plate.

The PROWLTOUCHWA wall-mount kit features a redesigned cradle and mounting arrangement that improves touchscreen stability compared with the earlier PROWLTOUCHWM model. The mounting plate attaches directly to a suitable wall surface using three supplied mounting screws, with a wiring channel for routing the power conductors. The touchscreen slides into the cradle, where its charging contacts engage the mount's electrical connections. An additional retaining screw can secure the touchscreen to the mounting plate. Unlike the previous PROWLTOUCHWM, the updated PROWLTOUCHWA does not support direct mounting to a standard electrical gang box. The kit includes the power supply and mounting hardware; field-installed power wiring is supplied separately.

Installation requires routing 16-22 AWG power wiring between the supplied transformer and the wall mount while observing the indicated terminal polarity. After mounting the plate, the compatible touchscreen is seated in the cradle and connected to power. Resideo recommends allowing 24 hours for the touchscreen battery to reach a full charge during initial installation. The installation procedure also specifies verifying an output voltage above 5.1V at the charging connection after the touchscreen has started. The PROWLTOUCHWA replaces the earlier PROWLTOUCHWM 5V wall mount, but the power supplies are not interchangeable. The supplied 9V transformer must not be connected to the older mounting assembly because it can damage the touchscreen. The PROWLTOUCHWA is a mounting and charging accessory and does not include a wireless touchscreen keypad or security control panel.
