The Bosch D9127U is an addressable POPIT (Point of Protection Input Transponder) module designed to expand intrusion and fire alarm detection points on compatible Bosch control panels. Operating on 12 VDC with a maximum current draw of 0.8 mA, it provides individual point identification and supervised sensor wiring through a two-wire expansion loop. The module connects through a Bosch D8125 or B299 POPEX expansion module and features DIP-switch addressing, screw-terminal connections, and a compact enclosure without an integrated tamper switch.

The Bosch D9127U is a Point of Protection Input Transponder (POPIT) designed to expand the number of individually monitored detection points on compatible Bosch intrusion and fire alarm control panels. The module connects to a D8125 or B299 POPEX expansion interface, allowing conventional initiating devices to be monitored through an addressable two-wire data expansion loop. Each POPIT provides a unique point address, enabling the control panel to identify the location of alarm and trouble conditions. The D9127U supports compatible Bosch B9512G, B8512G, and legacy G Series control panels, with total expansion capacity determined by the panel and POPEX interface configuration.

The D9127U combines individual point addressing and supervised sensor-loop monitoring to identify connected initiating devices and detect circuit faults. An onboard DIP switch assigns the module's point address according to the control panel's addressing scheme. Each sensor loop requires a 33 k end-of-line (EOL) resistor installed at the farthest point for proper supervision. The module provides screw terminals for the two-wire data expansion loop and connected detector circuit, allowing additional POPIT devices to be installed along a compatible POPEX loop. Its nominal operating voltage is 12 VDC, with a maximum current consumption of 0.8 mA. The module supports an approximate sensor-loop response time of one second under manufacturer-specified conditions.

The Bosch D9127U POPIT module supports addressable expansion in systems using compatible door contacts, motion detectors, and other initiating devices with appropriate supervised contact circuits. With a B299 POPEX module, a Bosch B9512G control panel can support up to 591 D9127 POPIT points, while a B8512G supports up to 91 POPIT points, subject to available system capacity and configuration. Installers can distribute modules along the POPEX data loop rather than running individual sensor circuits directly to the control panel. Bosch also offers the D9127T model with an integrated magnetic tamper switch; the D9127U does not include this feature. Applications requiring module tamper supervision must use the appropriate module or an approved tamper-protected enclosure.

The D9127U features an off-white, fire-resistant enclosure measuring 3.2 inches high x 1.5 inches wide x 0.9 inches deep (81 x 38 x 24 mm). Its compact design supports mounting in accessible junction boxes, equipment cabinets, and other approved indoor locations. The module operates at temperatures from 32 F to 140 F (0 C to 60 C) and relative humidity up to 93%, non-condensing. The package includes a 33 k EOL resistor, mounting hardware, and installation literature. Bosch requires installation inside an approved metal enclosure for applicable UL intrusion, NFPA fire, and ULC applications. The D9127 Series carries manufacturer-listed approvals for supported intrusion, fire alarm, and access control installations, including UL 864, UL 985, UL 1023, and UL 294, subject to the applicable system configuration.
