For all types of single doors and double doors, Von Duprin offers vertical rod exit devices in the 98 and 99 series. They are positioned within doors to provide an exit during emergencies when the door will open by pushing against the bar. While the 9927 series has a grooved mechanism case, the 9827 series panic bars have a smooth mechanism case.

Panic bars with vertical rods lock into the top and bottom of the door frame using rods. They can now be used on double doors without a mullion thanks to this. This non-handed vertical rod device can be mounted on doors that swing either left or right because it is non-handed. These components are Grade 1 door hardware and meet the requirements of ANSI A156.32014.

Through a switch, the Quiet Electric Latch Retraction function enables bolt retraction. By doing this, the exit door it is mounted on becomes a push-pull entry door.

There is no trim hardware for the exterior of the door included with the exit-only function panic bar. If used, it would prevent reentry and only permit exit through the door. The Trim needs to be bought separately.

This hardware cannot be used on a fire door since it is not fire-rated.
