In 2015 this electromagnetic lock did not just come with 2000 pounds of holding force, it came with a gold Govie, which is the government security award for locks, doors, and hardware. The GL1 is designed to secure a variety of vehicles and pedestrian gate applications where weather-resistant access control and security are required. It provides these functions in both electrically and manually operated gate installations and can be used for swinging or sliding for vehicle, pedestrian or stock cage gate access controls, or other applications. At a size of 2-3/4"L x 7-14"W x 3-1/4" D, it'll fit your needs.

The GL1 comes in several different models; each one has a 12/24VDC. The difference is the standard and monitored. The GL1-FL and the GL1-FS are the standard issues. The difference between them is the GL1-FL is fail locked, while the FS is fail safe. The monitored models are the GL1-FLM and the GL1-FSM, where the FLM is fail locked, and the FSM is fail safe. Lastly, the GMC, which is the gate lock mortise cylinder, is used for fail locked models only.

The gate lock is an electromechanical lock which is direct-latching fail safe/locked and incorporates Securitrons unique dual voltage system, with no field adjustment required. There are two different varieties of electrical choices. The 12 volts initial peak (~1.0 sec.) @ 870mA - reduced: 290mA power consumption: 3.5 watts, while it’s 24 volts initial peak are (~1.0 sec.) @ 720mA - reduced: 170mA power consumption: 4.1 watts. It has a self-aligning receiver (+/- ½” horizontally) that helps compensate for the gates misalignment and sag.

Due to the variety of mounting configurations available, it is highly recommended that a physical survey and assessment be made of the actual area where the lock will With an operating temperature of -58 to +168F [-50 to +75C], this lock can work both indoors and outdoors.

It also accepts a standard mortise cylinder with Adams Rite MS cam for a manual key override. It can be installed to either side of the lock cover because the lock latching mechanism features an actuator lever that will work with the cylinder from either side. To top it off, it is tamper resistant and has cast housing and an optional latch status monitor or surface mount. The GL1 weighs 6lbs [2.72kg] and comes in a black finish. It comes with the MagnaCare lifetime replacement with no-fault warranty.
