The Protech SDI-76XL-MW is a high-security, microwave-only outdoor intrusion sensor designed for wide-area perimeter protection where dependable detection is essential. Utilizing PROTECH’s advanced Stereo Doppler microwave technology, the SDI-76XL-MW accurately measures the amount of motion required to trigger an alarm, allowing it to reject vibration-related disturbances, swaying vegetation, and other sources of nuisance alarms. With the advanced “Stereo Doppler” signal processing, PROTECH sensors can discriminate against vibration and randomly moving targets as potential sources of nuisance alarms.

Applications: The PIRAMID MW offers enhanced detection capability for slow moving, fast moving, and crawling intruders, making it suitable for a wide range of threat scenarios. It is widely deployed in high-security environments such as military bases, correctional facilities, and nuclear power plants, where the highest level of detection reliability is mandatory. The PIRAMID MW provides an exceptionally high Probability of Detection (PD) greater than 0.95, while maintaining a very low Nuisance Alarm Rate / False Alarm Rate (NAR/FAR), delivering trustworthy performance in demanding outdoor conditions.

With a 50 ft × 50 ft wide-angle protection pattern, this model is ideal for open-area coverage around buildings, substations, industrial perimeters, and restricted-access zones. The rugged metal housing, EMI/RFI-resistant electronics, and protective weather shroud ensure long-term stability in harsh outdoor environments. The SDI-76XL-MW is compatible with PIRAMID mounting options including the PH-6L wall bracket and PH-4 / PH-4A pole-mount systems for flexible installation.
