The Protech SDI-76XL-MIL PIRAMID is a MIL-spec outdoor dual technology sensor engineered for the most demanding high-security applications.
Approved by the USAF for Protection Level 1 Nuclear & Below, this sensor delivers a wide-angle 50 ft. x 50 ft. (15m x 15m) volumetric detection pattern using Lens H (H 90°, V 60°), combining Protech's proprietary Stereo Doppler microwave technology with a dual-element passive infrared sensor in an "And Gate" configuration - both technologies must activate simultaneously to trigger an alarm.
With enhanced detection parameters optimized for slow-moving, fast-moving, and crawling intruders, the SDI-76XL-MIL achieves a probability of detection (POD) greater than 0.95 while maintaining an industry-leading false alarm rate of just 1 per unit per year. The all-metal RFI/EMI-shielded housing with integrated weather shroud operates from 10.5 to 28 VDC across a wide temperature range of -40°F to +158°F (-40°C to +70°C). Ideal for military bases, nuclear facilities, correctional institutions, and critical infrastructure requiring the highest level of perimeter protection.

- Dual Element Infrared Sensor: Ignores normal temperature variations yet is very responsive to rapid infrared changes created by an intruder. (Dual Technology Sensors Only).
- Digital Sensitivity Control: Ten-position digital switch adjusts the amount of movement required to initiate an alarm condition.
- Master Alarm LED: Displayed on the face of the unit indicating the alarm relay status.
- Analytic LED’s: Alarm and environmental caution LED’s for both technologies are displayed on the face of the sensor. An internal switch can disable both Master and Analytic LED’s .
- Walk-Test Sounder: Optional audible tester to assist in walk-test and initial sensor set-up. The XL-Sounder greatly simplifies the installation as it enables walk-testing and adjustment by a single installer.
- Microprocessor Controlled: Proprietary integrated circuit design provides enhanced digital signal processing for both microwave and passive infrared technologies.
- Digital Range Control: Ten-position digital switch adjusts how far the sensor detects (to its maximum range).
- Stereo Doppler Microwave Sensor: Two receiving channels with the ability to eliminate vibration and periodically moving objects as sources of false alarms.
