The NFPA guidelines for duct smoke detectors are followed in the design and construction of the PAD200-DUCT. Two tubes that stick out into the duct are used to sample the air. With the smoke duct unit, an exhaust tube of one standard length (7") is included in the installation package. Ordering for the air intake sampling tubes is necessary after the duct width has been established. To suit the duct, sampling tubes are provided in three standard lengths of 2.5 feet, 5 feet, and 10 feet. Using the template and 2 sheet metal screws that are included, you may mount the duct smoke unit. It is possible to mount without removing the clear cover, which is held in place by four capture screws.
The PAD200 Detector Series meets the latest UL 268 7th edition requirements while offering consumers an even better level in smoke detection thanks to improved sensor technology.
