Paxton Access 477-836-US Net2 RS485 High Speed Repeater

The maximum length for a RS485 dataline is 3200 feet. Using a repeater on the dataline allows it to be extended further. Each repeater extends the maximum overall dataline length by 3200 feet. A maximum of five repeaters can be used on a single dataline.

The repeater can also be used to allow branching of the dataline. Where the repeater is installed the dataline may be continued in two directions if required (see illustration below). For some applications this will reduce complexity and save on cable.
