The TX3-IP is a communication interface rather than an independent access controller; credential capacity, door control, resident directories, and elevator restrictions remain functions of the connected TX3 equipment. The Mircom TX3-IP incorporates the MD-921 IP module board, which operates at 3.3 VDC with a rated current consumption of 120 mA. The board mounts directly onto a compatible TX3 controller using four mounting spacers and four retaining screws, with the ribbon cable connecting to the controller's designated Ethernet interface header. Mircom specifies the P5 connection for TX3 Telephone Access controllers, P3 for Elevator Restriction controllers, and P4 for Card Access controllers.
