The Honeywell Home PROWIFIZW is a combined Wi-Fi and Z-Wave Plus communication module designed for compatible Resideo ProSeries and First Alert VISTA H3 security control panels. Supporting 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Z-Wave Plus connectivity, it enables internet-based alarm reporting, wireless touchscreen communication, and smart home automation. The Honeywell Home PROWIFIZW is a plug-in wireless communication module that adds Wi-Fi connectivity and Z-Wave Plus automation capabilities to compatible Resideo security control panels. It supports PROA7PLUS, PROA7PLUSC, PROA7PLUSCN, VISTAH3, and VISTAH3CN systems, providing network communication for alarm reporting and supported wireless touchscreen functions. Its 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n interface connects the security panel to a compatible wireless router for internet-based communication through Resideo's AlarmNet services. The module also supports compatible PROWLTOUCH and VISTAHTCHWLC wireless touchscreens and panel-supported Amazon Alexa functionality.

The PROWIFIZW incorporates Z-Wave Plus wireless automation technology for controlling compatible smart locks, lighting devices, and thermostats. Local automation functions are managed through the connected security panel, while supported Total Connect 2.0 services extend control to remote devices when the appropriate service features are enabled. Z-Wave device inclusion, exclusion, and system configuration are performed through AlarmNet 360 and the applicable control panel programming interface. Smart device compatibility, automation capacity, and available remote services depend on the installed panel, system firmware, and connected Z-Wave equipment.

The PROWIFIZW communication module receives operating power directly from the compatible control panel without requiring a separate power supply. Manufacturer specifications identify an input voltage range of 3.6-14V, with a maximum of 17V, and a nominal operating current of 250 mA when installed in the PROA7PLUS. The module uses the control panel's backup battery during primary power interruptions, subject to the panel's available standby capacity. Its integrated design eliminates the need for a separately mounted Wi-Fi or Z-Wave controller. A functioning wireless router and internet connection are required for Wi-Fi alarm reporting and supported cloud-connected services.

The Honeywell PROWIFIZW measures approximately 2.6 inches long x 1.5 inches wide (67 x 40 mm) and installs inside the designated expansion compartment of a compatible control panel. Installation requires disconnecting the panel's AC power and backup battery before inserting the module into its internal connector and securing it with the supplied mounting screw. The module operates in temperatures from 32 F to 122 F (0 C to 50 C) and supports relative humidity up to 95%, non-condensing. Manufacturer-listed approvals include FCC/IC, UL 985, UL 1023, UL 1610, ULC-S545, and ULC ORD-C1023. After installation, the module is configured through AlarmNet 360 and verified with a communication test. The PROWIFIZW provides integrated wireless networking and automation expansion but does not include a security control panel, cellular communicator, or Z-Wave peripheral devices.
