The Honeywell Ademco 5815 is a battery powered, stationary transmitter designed for use only with alarm systems that support the 5800 series wireless devices.
Typically, the magnet is mounted on a door or window and the transmitter is mounted on the frame. When the magnet moves away from the transmitter, the 5815 senses the door/window is opening, and sends an alarm signal back to the control panel. When the magnet returns to the unit, a restore signal is sent.
Alarms and restores can also be sent from external contacts wired to the terminal block. This transmitter can send a number of different codes, including supervisory, tamper, and low battery messages.
