The Honeywell ADEMCO 4219 is an 8-zone hardwired expansion module designed to add wired detection circuits to compatible VISTA security control panels. Supporting eight normally closed or end-of-line resistor supervised zones, it connects through the panel's four-wire ECP keypad bus. The module operates on 12 VDC at 30 mA and features DIP-switch addressing, configurable zone response, and supervised communication. It supports compatible VISTA-15P, VISTA-20P, and VISTA-21iP systems for residential and commercial intrusion detection expansion.

The Honeywell ADEMCO 4219 is a wired zone expander designed to increase the number of monitored detection circuits on compatible VISTA intrusion alarm control panels. It provides eight additional hardwired protection zones for connecting door contacts, window contacts, motion detectors, glassbreak sensors, and other compatible alarm devices. Each zone can be configured for normally closed operation or end-of-line resistor supervision, allowing the control panel to identify alarm conditions through individually programmed detection circuits. The module supports compatible VISTA-15P, VISTA-20P, and VISTA-21iP security systems, with the number of installed expanders determined by the panel's available zone capacity.

The 4219 connects to the control panel through the four-wire ECP keypad bus, which carries operating power and bidirectional communication. The module operates on 12 VDC with a nominal current consumption of 30 mA and supports connection through its four-terminal wiring block or four-pin console connector. For end-of-line supervised installations, each protection circuit uses a 1,000-ohm (1 k ) end-of-line resistor installed at the end of the sensor loop. An onboard DIP switch configures the module's device address and Zone A response time. Zone A supports 10 ms fast response or 300 ms normal response, while the remaining seven zones use a nominal 300 ms response time.

The Honeywell 4219 expansion module supports supervised communication with the alarm control panel to identify module disconnection and wiring faults. If communication is interrupted, the panel reports a trouble or tamper condition according to its programming. The module includes tamper protection for remote installations, allowing the system to monitor unauthorized opening or removal from its enclosure. Compatible VISTA-20P systems support up to 40 additional hardwired zones using five 4219 or 4229 expansion modules, while VISTA-15P systems support up to 16 expansion zones using two modules. Zone numbering, device addresses, and available expansion capacity depend on the specific control panel and its firmware.

The ADEMCO 4219 measures approximately 6-7/16 inches wide x 4-1/4 inches high x 1-1/4 inches deep (163 x 108 x 32 mm). It can be installed inside a compatible alarm control cabinet when sufficient space is available or mounted remotely using appropriate enclosure and tamper protection provisions. Installation requires assigning a unique module address, connecting the ECP communication wiring, terminating the detection circuits, and programming each added zone through the control panel. The module carries manufacturer-listed UL and FCC Part 15 Class B certifications. Designed for expansion and servicing of existing VISTA security systems, the 4219 provides individually supervised wired detection zones without requiring replacement of the main control panel.
