The GRI DPARM is a closed-loop pool access alarm designed to detect unauthorized entry through doors and windows leading to swimming pools and spas. Featuring instant-on alarm activation, an 85 dB sounder, and a 15-second adult pass-through function, it provides audible notification when a protected opening is accessed. The microprocessor-controlled alarm operates on a standard 9V battery or an external 12 VDC power supply and includes low-battery monitoring, adjustable sounder volume, and an SPDT relay output for auxiliary alarm integration.

GRI DPARM Closed-Loop Pool Access Alarm with Instant-On Notification

The George Risk Industries DPARM is a microprocessor-controlled pool access alarm designed to monitor doors and windows that provide entry to swimming pool and spa areas. The alarm uses closed-loop magnetic reed contacts to detect when a protected opening is accessed, activating its audible sounder immediately unless the adult pass-through function has been engaged. Its instant-on operation distinguishes the DPARM from the DPARM-D model, which provides a 7-second initial alarm delay. The device is intended for residential pool enclosures, spa access points, and other locations requiring audible notification of potentially unsupervised entry.

The DPARM features an integrated sounder rated at 85 dB at 10 feet, with selectable full, three-quarter, and half-volume settings configured through an internal jumper. A built-in shunt/cancel button provides up to 15 seconds of temporary alarm deactivation, allowing adults to pass through a protected doorway without activating the alarm. The system automatically restores normal monitoring after the bypass period expires. Its microprocessor supervises the connected magnetic contacts, bypass button, and operating voltage. A low-battery warning alerts users when supply voltage falls to approximately 6.5 VDC, supporting continued system maintenance.

The pool alarm operates using a standard 9V battery with an estimated service life of 3-6 months or an optional external 12 VDC, 500 mA power supply. External operating voltage must not exceed 15 VDC. The DPARM includes an SPDT relay output rated at 2A at 30 VDC, with a maximum switching capacity of 60 watts, for connection to compatible auxiliary notification and monitoring equipment. Dedicated terminal connections support remote sounders, remote reset or bypass buttons, external power, and closed-loop door contacts. The manufacturer also provides wiring guidance for doors with adjoining screen doors, allowing both openings to be monitored through appropriately configured magnetic switches.

The GRI DPARM pool alarm features a self-contained enclosure suitable for surface mounting on a wall or installation within a standard single-gang utility box. Its wiring terminals and configurable jumper settings allow installers to select audible output levels and connect compatible external accessories. The manufacturer recommends installing protection on applicable movable openings leading to a pool or spa area, with mounting height determined by local safety codes. The DPARM is manufactured in the United States and backed by a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. It is intended as a supplementary pool access monitoring device and does not replace physical barriers, adult supervision, or other required swimming pool safety measures.
