Noncoded fire alarm stations from Edwards' MPSR Series manual pull stations are made of a sturdy die-cast material. To prevent corrosion, every component has been pre-painted or has had its surfaces plated. Manual stations that are weatherproof are approved for outdoor use. The single-pole (usually open) and double-pole (double throw) alarm connections are both available for single-action and double-action MPSR variants. Depending on the model, a keylock or hex screw is used to obtain access to the device for reset reasons. Explosionproof/weatherproof manual stations are classified as NEMA 4X for outdoor use and are qualified for Class I Group B (hydrogen), Class II Groups E, F, and G environments. They can be activated via a single, double, key, or hexadecimal operated reset. All variants include 10 amp contacts and terminal block connectors.

There are variations of the manual pull stations in the MPRS series that are both waterproof and explosion proof.

With either single pole (usually open) or double pole (normally open/normally closed) connections, the waterproof variants are available in single action and double action. They can also be had with a key reset or a tool reset.

The single action, normally open/normally closed, and key reset contacts on the explosion-proof type are included. The pull station is NEMA 4X rated for outdoor usage and is listed for Class I Groups B, C, and D, Class II Groups E, F, and G, and Class III settings.
