Edwards Signaling 105XBRIRGA120A Edwards 105 Series XBR LED Chameleon for use in Division 2 applications. Indoor or outdoor use.
A robust, dependable, multi-color visual signaling device, the Edwards 105XBRi Series XTRA-BRITETM LED Multi-Status Indicator is listed under UL and cUL standards. It has a panel- or conduit-mountable Type 4X enclosure with corrosion resistance that is UL approved for marine application. The double fresnel lens is made of shatter-resistant polycarbonate, while the base is constructed from glass-reinforced thermoplastic polyester resin.
The Chameleon 125XBRi devices come pre-equipped with XTRA-SAFETM Technology (patent pending) by Edwards Signaling. For those who are colorblind, XTRA-SAFETM multi-status signaling devices use patented combinations of color and flash-rate to deliver a more precise status indicator.
The lights are offered in either Red/Blue/Amber or Red/Green/Amber and are available in 24V DC and 120V AC At 50/60 Hz.
The NEW 105XBRi Multi-status Indicator from Edwards Signaling is more "chameleon-like" than ever. One smartphone does it all thanks to its adaptive design.
These versatile multi-status indicators instantaneously adapt for usage with or without control from an external PLC, PAC, or control relay with a short adjustment to the new 105XBRi Chameleon's dip switch settings. You will now have the ideal tool for the job, regardless of the application.
XTRA-SAFETM Support
The XTRA-SAFETM Technology (patent pending) by Edwards Signaling is enabled by default on Chameleon 105XBRi devices. To give color-blind people a clearer status indication, XTRA-SAFE multi-status indicating devices use patented combinations of color AND flash rate. With XTRA-SAFE, Chameleon multi-status indicators pulse at a rate of 240 flashes per minute when they are turned red, highlighting the urgency that the color red traditionally denotes. These gadgets pulse at a "less urgent" rate of 120 flashes per minute when amber. The Chameleon devices remain "steady-on" and do not flash when the Chameleon multi-status indicators are turned blue or green and no other colors are activated. Flash-rate variation offers a second layer of visual cues even in severe situations where no color is perceived.
The following pre-set flash speeds will be used when XTRA-SAFE Technology is on and various colors are powered on the device:
240 FPM for red.
120 FPM for amber
65 FPM for Green or Blue
Disabled XTRA-SAFE
Even while operating a multi-status indication with XTRA-SAFE Technology is generally a good idea, some applications might not need to differentiate between flash rates. Other applications do not vary in accordance with increasing levels of urgency. The new Chameleon 105 XBRi's adaptive architecture enables the product to be modified to meet these needs with a straightforward dip switch configuration. When red or amber with XTRA-SAFE Disabled, the device pulses at a rate of 65 flashes per minute. The Chameleon devices stay "steady on" and do not flash when the Chameleon multi-status indicators are set to green or blue and no other colors are activated.
The device will cycle between all electrified colors at 65 FPM when XTRA-SAFE Technology is off and several colors are active.
Outside of the Control
The Chameleon multi-status indicators can also be utilized in applications where they will be "externally" controlled by a PLC or other similar external controller. The activation of colors and the flash rate are completely programmable when a PLC is used as an external controller. When several colors are active at once, the lights work according to priority, with red being the highest, amber coming in second, and blue or green coming in last.
The 105BX junction box, the 105BM mounting bracket, and the 105PM pipe mount attachment are three distinct mounting options for the Chameleon. The 105PM pipe attachment can be used to mount the device on 3/4" NPT. Additionally, it can be surface mounted by combining the 105BX junction box and mounting bracket 105BM.
When attached to metallic wiring systems, all three mounting methods do not provide continuity between the earth and the ground since they are non-conductive plastic fixtures. They are only meant to be used when earth-grounding is not necessary with the 105XBRi Chameleon visual signals. Only metallic wiring systems can use them when they are installed at the end of the route.
