Alarm Controls
The Alarm Controls DL-2 is an 18-inch heavy-duty armored door loop designed to protect low-voltage wiring between a moving door and its stationary frame. Featuring a flexible steel jacket with a 3/8-inch (0.375-inch) inside diameter and heavy-duty aluminum alloy end caps, the DL-2 provides a protected pathway for conductors serving electrified locks, exit devices, and access control hardware. The surface-mounted assembly includes mounting hardware and accommodates door movement while shielding enclosed wiring from abrasion and mechanical damage.
The Alarm Controls DL-2 Heavy-Duty Armored Door Loop provides a flexible wiring pathway between stationary door frames and moving door assemblies in commercial access control installations. Designed for electrified locking hardware, access-controlled entrances, electronic exit devices, and door-mounted security equipment, the DL-2 protects low-voltage conductors as the door opens and closes. Its 18-inch flexible armored construction accommodates repeated door movement while reducing direct exposure of electrical wiring to abrasion and physical contact. The door loop is suitable for commercial doors requiring surface-mounted power transfer where concealed electrified hinges or mortised power transfer devices are not used.
The DL-2 features an 18-inch armored steel jacket with a 0.375-inch (3/8-inch) inside diameter, providing a protected passage for compatible low-voltage power and signal conductors. The flexible metal construction resists abrasion and mechanical damage during normal door operation. Unlike smaller door loops with narrower internal openings, the DL-2 provides a larger conduit diameter for routing appropriately sized wiring bundles. Both ends incorporate heavy-duty aluminum alloy mounting caps that secure the armored conduit to the door and frame. The unit functions as a passive wiring protection accessory and does not contain electrical contacts, internal switching components, or an independent power supply.
The Alarm Controls DL-2 armored power transfer loop supports surface mounting between a compatible swinging door and its adjacent frame. The assembly includes metal end caps and mounting hardware for securing the conduit at both attachment points. During installation, low-voltage conductors are routed through the steel jacket and into the door and frame openings, establishing an electrical pathway to door-mounted access control equipment. The flexible conduit accommodates door movement while maintaining protection for the enclosed wires. Installers must select conductor sizes according to the 3/8-inch internal opening, account for the door's swing and required bending clearance, and position the loop to prevent interference with hinges, latches, and adjacent hardware.
The Alarm Controls DL-2 18-inch door loop is designed for use with compatible electric strikes, electrified locksets, request-to-exit devices, access control sensors, and other door-mounted low-voltage equipment requiring wiring between the frame and door. The manufacturer offers related configurations including the DL-24, DL-30, DL-36, DL-48, and DL-60, providing armored conduit lengths of 24, 30, 36, 48, and 60 inches for installations requiring additional reach. The separately designated DL-2ELECTRO includes an ElectroLynx connector option for compatible electrified hardware systems. The standard DL-2 includes the 18-inch armored conduit, aluminum alloy end caps, and mounting hardware without preinstalled wiring or connectors. Installation must follow applicable electrical, access control, and door hardware requirements.
