Adams Rite 1830-02-628 BOTTOM RAIL DEADLOCK
In ultra-narrow stile or tempered glass doors, the 1830-02-628 series Bottom Rail Deadlock (Swingbolt) enables bottom rail locking. It works to lock the bottom rail of tempered glass or doors with extremely thin stiles when the bottom rail (shoe) is too shallow for the MS1861 Bottom Rail Deadbolt. Its mechanism is comparable to the MS1850A Deadlock's, with the exception that the bolt is smaller. This prevents the accumulation of debris or snagging on high-heeled shoes by minimizing the threshold strike opening. Cylinder setscrews are shielded from tampering and kept from losing by an armor faceplate. The counterbalanced bolt is thrown or retracted by a thumb-turn or 360-degree key turn. Only after the bolt is positively locked or unlocked can the Key be withdrawn. Wood doors are not covered by it.
Function: To lock the bottom rail of tempered glass or doors with extremely thin stiles when the bottom rail (shoe) is too shallow for the MS1861 Bottom Rail Deadbolt. The MS1850 Deadlock's mechanism is used, however, the bolt size is smaller. This prevents the accumulation of debris or snagging on high-heeled shoes by minimizing the threshold strike opening. Cylinder setscrews are shielded from tampering and kept from loosening by an armor faceplate. Wood doors are excluded from this.
Operation: The counterbalanced bolt is thrown or retracted with a 360? turn of the key or thumb-turn. Only after the bolt is positively locked or unlocked can the key be removed. Any common 1-5/32" mortise cylinder from one or both sides is accepted by the lock. The cylinder must have a cam with MS dimensions.
