Rofu Magnetic and Shear Locks

Holding force and mounting are the two decisions here. A surface magnet mounts on the frame and pulls against a plate on the door, while a shear lock sits in the top of the frame and holds the door on a pin, which is what a frameless or aesthetic opening usually calls for.

Surface magnets are listed as full length single magnets at 1200 lbs. holding force in aluminum and as full length double magnets at 2x 1200 lbs., with flush mount, wall mount and floor mount versions on 24V that are UL listed. A gate maglock is listed at 600lb with a bond sensor on 12/24DC, a sliding door magnet at 600LB holding force uses mortise mounting, and a delayed egress single magnet at 1200LB covers exits that need a timed release.

Shear locks cover a 1200lb mini shear lock and a 2200 lb monitored magnetic shear lock listed with monitoring and bond on 12/24 VDC. Bond sensor and door status contacts are listed on the monitored magnets and shear locks.
