How do I pick the right charger for my sealed lead-acid battery?

Sealed lead-acid batteries, like the PS-1250, that aren't connected to a control panel or similar float-charging device, will require a sealed lead-acid battery charger.

Choosing the right charger...
It's important to know that sealed lead-acid batteries come in a few basic types: VRLA, AGM, and Gel. Make sure to find a charger that works with your specific SLA battery type. It's good to consider other factors as well, like recharge time, frequency of use, and discharge depth, when shopping for a charger. Try to go with a charger that has no more than 20% the Ah capacity of your battery. For instance, a 12 volt, 5Ah sealed lead-acid battery requires a charger with a 1Ah maximum output. Take a look at our selection of Power-Sonic Switch Mode chargers and find the right one for your battery.

If your battery is connected to a Honeywell Control Panel, or similar security system...
There is no need to purchase a charger. As soon as the battery is connected, the control panel will automatically charge the battery to its full capacity, and continue to do so for the life of the battery.
