Can I use Compass Software to program my Vista 20P Control Panel?
It is possible for ambitious end users to use Compass Software to program a Vista 20P.

What you will need...
1. A modem approved for use with Honeywell control panels.
2. A computer with a standard serial port that works with the modem and Compass software.
3. A phone cord with an RJ-11 jack.
Then just follow these steps:
1. Insert the RJ-11 phone cord to the modem's line jack.
2. Insert the other end into terminals 23 and 24 on your Vista 20P control panel.
3. Bridge a connection between terminals 4 and 5 on your control panel with a 150 ohm, 0.5 watt resistor.
4. Start up your Compass software and create a new Vista 20P account.
5. Click "Initiate from Telco" under the communications tab and then click "Connect". In the box provided, type in your 4-digit installer code, then "#", then the number "1". After the "Modem Comm"/"CC" message appears, click the "OK" button.
The modem is now programmed to download information to your
Vista 20P control panel.
