How do I install a ZWSTAT Z-Wave Thermostat?

It's usually recommended that homeowners employ the help of a licensed HVAC to wire a ZWAVE Thermostat.

There are many reasons why you should consult a professional installer when wiring the ZWSTAT. First of all, the thermostat needs a 24VAC common wire for power, which most thermostats do not require. Wiring this incorrectly can result in causing damage to the transformer. Just take a look at pages 4 and 5 of the product manual where there are instructions for 11 different wiring setups. Do you know what the wiring system is in your house? Do you know how many transformers you have? Do you know how to check your air handler and figure out if its a heat pump or a conventional pump? These questions tend to be over the heads of even the most ambitious do-it-yourselfers. That's why it's recommended that you hire a professional HVAC installer to handle the job.
