IR Learners, Blasters and Extenders

An IR control system needs three things: the codes, a way to send them and sometimes a way to receive them. This page covers all three.

The IR learner plugs into a PC RS-232 port and learns IR codes from 30 to 500KHz from an existing remote, taking its power from the RTS line of the serial port so no supply is needed. Receivers capture IR between 30KHz and 72KHz, and extenders convert IR signals into digital data for a PC or serial port.

On the output side, blasters work with GC-100 adapters to transmit across a room up to 40 feet with no power supply or connecting block, supplied with a 3.5mm stereo plug and a 6 foot cable. Converter cables bridge systems, one converting a Global Cache IR output to a Xantech IR input and one connecting Xantech distribution block outputs to an extender input.

See iTach adapters and GC-100 adapters, or browse the full Global Cache catalog. Contact our team with your equipment and we can help you choose.
