GE Security Heat Detection

Heat detection is what covers the rooms smoke detection cannot. Optical smoke detectors cannot be used in high dust conditions, so the detector monitors temperature instead.

The detector listed here is a learn mode rate-of-rise and fixed temperature unit, described as an effective fire safety solution for environments with a high likelihood of rapid fire development, or where optical smoke detectors cannot be used due to high dust conditions.

Both mechanisms work together: the detector monitors room temperature and activates the alarm if the temperature gets too high, or if it increases rapidly. Learn mode means it enrolls to a compatible panel wirelessly rather than being wired to a zone.
